Thank you so much for your excitement about your Melcor tree! As the fall season comes to an end, we are at Mother Nature’s beck and call as to how long we are able to plant trees. We completed our latest tree planting day on October 22, 2024. While we hope we can have one more tree planting day in the 2024 season, that is dependent on two factors; number of requested trees (we need ~8 trees for a planting day) and the weather. Please go ahead and complete the Tree Form and your locates. That way, if we can accommodate your planting this fall, we have all the required information to plant your tree.

Resident Tree Program

WELCOME HOME TO EVERGREEN

We’re excited to welcome you to the neighbourhood of Evergreen. Our housewarming gift for your new home is a new tree - chosen by you! As a new resident of the community, we’ve partnered with Parkland Nursery and Landscape to provide you with a beautiful tree for your home. Parkland Nursery and Landscape will deliver, plant, and fertilize the selected tree.

To receive your complimentary tree please follow the steps below and complete the form.

TREE SELECTION FORM

Step 1: Please complete utility line locates through Click Before You Dig before filling out the tree form to ensure the tree you are selecting can be installed where you envision your new tree to be planted AND will fit in that space at maturity.

Step 2: Please complete the tree form with your FINAL selection of tree(s). Once this form has been completed, Parkland Nursery & Landscape Services (PNLS) crews will be preparing your tree(s) for planting and regretfully changes to tree selection(s) cannot be accommodated. If you need assistance with your tree selection, please call PNLS (403.340.8755) for assistance PRIOR to submitting the form.

Step 3: PNLS will give you a courtesy call once we have enough trees to complete a planting day.

Tree availability is dependent on stock availability at the nursery. Call or visit the nursery on the Canyon Ski Hill Road for more information. Open form in new tab HERE.

PLANT CARE

After the delivery of your tree, and upon completion of planting, it’s important to follow these steps to care for your new tree. For your tree to grow and look it’s best:

  • Trees (except Mountain Ash- which can easily drown to over watering) should be watered every two days for the first week (unless extreme heat or a substantial amount of rain)
  • Continue watering 3-4x a week for another two weeks.
  • Continue to water the tree 2 times per week or more often in extreme heat. For Mountain Ash, water 3 times the first week and then twice the following week and once the week after that.

Requirements

  • Top soil must be placed and levelled.
  • Trees are for front yard landscaping only unless allocated two trees, then one may go in the backyard.
  • Parkland Nursery & Landscape Services is not responsible for utility location prior to work.
  • Homeowners must acquire locates and place them in a zip-loc bag attached to the stake that is marking the placement of the tree. Instructions found in Tree Selection Form.

WARRANTY

All trees are warranted until the end of the growing season. If concerns arise please contact Parkland Nursery & Landscape Services and a horticulturalist will be sent to inspect the tree(s).Any trees not planted by Parkland Nursery & Landscape Services do not have warranty. Warranty does not cover damage due to vandalism, dog urine, hazardous materials (such as de-icing materials or roundup), overwatering, or neglect.
